Process to change mobile number on GST Portal.

The process of updating the mobile number or email address on the GST portal is very simple. Changing these details can be done in two ways, which depends upon the number of authorised signatories of the business.

There is only one person who is authorised to sign:

  • Access the GST portal using your credentials and then go to the option ‘Services’. Under the option of Services, open the option of ‘Registration’. Then ‘Amendment of Registration Non-core Fields’.
  • Select the ‘Promoter/Partner’ option. Here you will see the authorized signatory’s name whose mobile number you want to update. Beside the name, you will find an option of ‘Action’. Then go to the ‘Edit’ option.
  • Modify the mobile number or email address of the authorised signatory, as needed. Press the ‘Save’ button.
  • An OTP will be sent to the new mobile number and new email address that you have provided. Input the OTP. The changed number or e-mail address will be displayed.
  • Then go to the ‘Verification’ tab. As you have filled in the necessary details, check the declaration box and fill out the form, entering the required details.
  • Then an OTP will be sent to the new mobile number, which is to be entered for the verification process.
  • After submitting the OTP, a confirmation message will be sent to you containing the ARN number for tracking the application status.
  • When you get a notification that reads ‘Changes Approved’, it indicates that the phone number and email address have been successfully changed.

  • First of all, login to the GST portal and then go to the ‘Services’ option. Then under the Services option, go to ‘Registration’, and then ‘Amendment of Registration Non-core Fields.’
  • Then go to the designated signatory section. Press the ‘Create’ button.
  • Input the information of the new approved signatory whose email and phone number you want to utilize. Press the ‘Save’ button.
  • Navigate to the ‘Verification’ section. As you have provided the necessary details, mark the declaration box, and submit the form.
  • After 15 minutes, open the GST portal by logging in. Then go to the option of ‘Services’. Under this option there is an option of ‘Registration’. Open this option, then go to ‘Edit Registration Non-core Fields’.
  • Proceed to the ‘Authorised Signatory’ section and remove the prior authorised signatory as the main authorised signatory.
  • Choose a different authorised signer to be the main authorised signer. Verify that the phone number and email address given are accurate. A one-time password will be sent for verification.
